Meet our United Way Staff

 

Rick Garcia, Executive Director

Rick garcia has worked within the United Way system for 16 years, he worked with the Michigan Association of United Ways as well as with United Way of America, before coming to the United Way of St. Clair County in 2007.  He has incorporated his fresh and innovative ideas with new programs for St. Clair County, the new Volunteer Action Center and a satelite office in St. Clair just to name a few.

Richard Cummings, Campaign Director

Richard or Dick as he is commonly referred to, also began his career with United Way at the Michigan Association of United Ways.   Before working with United Way, Dick was employed at Mueller Brass for a number of years and was Directing Business Agent for the Machinest Union for 18 years.  He served on United Way of St. Clair County's Board of Directors and he was the Board President in 1979, 1980, 1995 and 1996. He was the Campaign Chair in 1980, and became an employee in 1996.  He is the Campaign Director, and directs the making of the United Way of St. Clair County video each year. He assumes a varity of different roles at United Way,  as with most United Way employees he wears many different hats at different times of the year.

Cathy Gaber, Finance Director

Cathy began working for United Way of St. Clair County in 2003, prior to that she was employed with Republic Services as a payroll accountant.  She expanded her educcation in accounting, while working with United Way to enable her to become the Finance Director.  She also works directly with the Emergency Food and Shelter Program (EFSP).

Julie Ganhs, Community Impact Director

Julie began working for United Way of St. Clair County in 2004.  She graduated from Central Michigan University with a BS in BA majoring in Office Systems Administration.  She is an integral part of the Citizens Review Committee, she works very closely with all of United Way of St. Clair County Parnter Agencies, and is a large part of the Campaign process.

Charles O'Boyle, Labor Representative

Charlie began work for United Way of St. Clair County in 2006, prior to that he was employed with Chrysler, where he retired from.  As a Labor Representative he campaigns with the labor companies within the County.  He also works closely with the Community Dental Clinic addressing the dental needs of the community.

Susan Sealy, Office Manager

Susan began working for United Way of St. Clair County in 2004.  She has experience in office management and customer service.  Her primary functions include working with the United Way Medical Loan Closet, assisting the Board of Directors, assisting the Executive Director, packing the campaing materials and running the office.
